Now in its 21st year, a $1,000 scholarship is provided by Moreau-Grand Electric and Basin Electric Power Cooperative. The scholarship program recognizes and encourages academic and community achievements of students in the region. It is considered an investment in the economic future of America.

The applications are mailed to Basin Electric in Bismarck, N.D., where a Scholarship Committee selects a winner. Selection is based on ACT or SAT scores, grade point average, high school/college honors, community and school activities, employment history, future career goals and references.

The scholarship is available to area seniors and students who are currently attending or planning to attend a college, a university or a technical school. Applications are available from guidance counselors at area high schools, Moreau-Grand Electric Cooperative offices in Timber Lake and Eagle Butte or may be downloaded from www.mge.coop.

The deadline is Feb. 13.  Two scholarship applications are available. One is the Moreau-Grand Electric/Basin Electric scholarship and the other is the Touchstone Energy® scholarship.
